What's it about?
Dr. Tobias Pieper will give a lecture on his book called "The present of the "lager"- to the microphysics of rule in germen refugee politics" (in german: Die Gegenwart der Lager- Zur Microphysik der Herrschaft in der deutschen Flüchtlingspolitik") In his book, which came out in September, he describes the process in the germen refugee politics and the establishment of the "Lager System" in the Federal Republic of Germany since 1982. At the same time Pieper points out the racist campaigns of the state linked with the public discourse and the social acceptance of an increasing isolation of people seeking asylum. Furthermore he comments on the fierce racist violence coming from Nazis.
The movie "naturalization test" ( in germen: "Der Einbürgerungstext) is a satire by Güclü Yaman from 2007. His comment on the film is "Don't try to answer the questions asked in the movie or else you might take risk in being denaturalized!"
The photography exhibition, under the slogan: "the cosmopolitan Saxony-Anhalt introduces its hospitality", will be showing pictures of the GU-ZAST (the central place of refuge for people who seek asylum in Saxony -Anhalt). To this place all asylum seekers are brought first after one has been allocated in Saxony- Anhalt. It is the first housing that you get to know in this country, leaving it to be your first impression of the state. You are forced to stay there one whole year, just provided with cafeteria food and a small amount of allowance.
The Fashion show is thought to be a financial support for the refugees in Saxony-Anhalt. So take the chance and snatch some crazy but marvellous clothing at our auction. You can also get rid of some old things that you don`t wear anymore.
Finally, you can party on to world music, ska, electro and much more until sunrise.
